Commercial auto insurance cost for contractors

What contractors pay to insure work trucks and vans. Some insurers publish a price per vehicle and others per policy (all vehicles on it), so the two are shown in separate tables and should not be compared directly.

We are not an insurance agent. Prices are what each company publishes; your quote will differ. Premiums depend on your trade, state, payroll, limits, deductible, vehicles and claims history. We never produce quotes.

Affiliate disclosure: Some insurers run affiliate programs. Every insurer link on this page is a plain link to the company’s own site today; if we join a program, those links will be marked sponsored. It never changes the figures or the order we show. Details

Quote only biBERK, ERGO NEXT, Hiscox: no published price on the pages we checked.

ERGO NEXT sells commercial auto through Progressive: Offered via Progressive partnership; no price.

A per-policy figure covers every vehicle on the policy, so a crew with three trucks would expect a per-policy figure above a single-vehicle one. We do not convert between them.
